To mark New York magazine’s 50th anniversary, they are launching a series of covers called “My New York.” They’ve asked 50 top New York artists to design covers that attempts to describe what the city looks like to them right now.
Marilyn Minter’s piece reads “Home of the resistance,” while more covers are made by Alex Katz, Mel Bochner, Maurizio Cattelan and Barbara Kruger. The magazine covers will be plastered all over the streets of New York City. Look out for these posters with the magazines masthead in downtown, Central Park and even tucked in bar bathrooms.
It’s what David Haskell New York magazine’s business editor calls “a public art project.”
