Stella McCartney has teamed up with iconic American artist Ed Ruscha and his signature wry phrases for the fashion label’s winter ad 2016 campaign, #stellacares.
The images will feature Ruscha’s phrases superimposed on editorial photographs of top model and actress Amber Valletta. The campaign will aim to highlight McCartney’s commitment to cruelty-free fashion with statements such as “No Leather Feathers or Fur”, “Veg Out” and “Meat Free” all alluding to her stance against using such materials and vegetarianism. Valletta also happens to be a vegetarian herself as well as being an environmental activist!
McCartney and Ruscha have a long-standing friendship. Not only that, the British fashion designer happens to be a great fan of the Pop artist and his oeuvre. They were recently photographed together for a recent edition of Porter magazine. Fun fact: they both even starred together in one of Sundance’s Iconoclast episodes back in 2008.
