After turning the Guggenheim into a sanctuary this May with her performance art piece, Solange Knowles just announced on her IG to stage another art world excitement.
On Oct. 8, during the Chianti weekend yearly outdoor spectacle, she will bring her performance art piece, “Scales,” to Marfa, Texas and Donald Judd’s art will be the beauty’s backdrop. “Donald Judd’s “15 untitled works in concrete” has had such profound influence on the way I view the world, and I am beyond honored to deliver a site specific version of my performance piece, “Scales” (2017) alongside these phenomenal installations during @chinatifoundationweekend. Texas peeps, pull up!”, the artist and musician stated.

Knowles has popped up quite a few times in the art world this year: apart from the Guggenheim spectacle, Solange presented Scales, a visual interpretation of her latest album A Seat at the Table, at Houston’s Menil Collection.
As an additional connection to Marfa, Solange’s art book/album companion publication called A Seat at the Table is currently available at the Marfa Book Company.
