Legendary fashion icon Diana Vreeland once said “You can see a revolution approaching in clothes.” With the one year anniversary of the Women’s March coming up January 21, a new line of resistance wear is being launched by Los Angeles street artist Shepard Fairey’s fashion line OBEY, who are teaming up with feminist label Wildfang. The Rise and Riot collection fights oppression with an urban aesthetic; featured are cropped and baggy t-shirts, a twill pants and sweatshirt suit and a snapback—all riddled with emoji-esque hand symbols. “With the coming anniversary of the Women’s March, we wanted to represent the feelings we were all having in that moment and still have a year later, a mix of anger and hope,” said Wildfang creative director Taralyn Thuot. “What it felt like to come together as women and raise our voices against issues that impact our lives and our future.”
