Kate Moss, Naomi, Rihanna… he has shot them all in a way that makes them look lie Renaissance paintings. This is the work of Paris-based Italian photographer Paolo Roversi—known for shooting Rihanna’s Anti album cover—who was asked by the house of Christian Dior to choose his best work of models wearing the label’s looks designed by Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano and Raf Simons. They’re all in this new book being released by Rizzoli on February 20 called Dior Images: Paolo Roversi.
Pioneer of the blurry, imperfect photograph in fashion with his 8×10 Polaroid, this book is a tribute to the analogue format, but even with his new digital work, Roversi often brings a moody look to his shots, which never goes out of style.
