New York artist Rachel Feinstein breaks beauty myths in her forthcoming exhibition entitled “Secrets” at Gagosian Beverly Hills opening January 11. Feinstein, wife of painter and VOGUE contributor John Currin, premieres a series of life-size women’s bodies, which are inspired by the globalization of Victoria Secret and their runway Angels. “I’ve always been interested in portraying some kind of fantasy, then showing that it’s completely constructed,” said the artist. “There are always dark messages hidden behind beauty, and the act of sculpting is about listening to that inner voice that warns you about something lurking beneath the surface.”
