For their Women’s Tales short film series, Miu Miu has commissioned the long time muse Chloë Sevigny to swap places and stand behind the camera directing a short film dealing with femininity today. Choosing comedian Carmen Lynch as main character, Sevigny seeks to capture the passivity of everyday. According to Sevigny, Carmen is about “being a woman, celebrity and ego”. The plot in a nutshell: Lynch get ready for a stand-up gig while film snippets complement her personal thoughts on dating, the pill and having kids and provides intimate insights into how to handle insecurities or absurd dating rituals. The movie is staged in the nighttime surroundings of Portland.
