While MaxMara’s fluffy mohair coat-and-cardigan hybrids for this Autumn/Winter 2015 season have been well commended, its impish collaboration with the Brooklyn-based painter and muralist artist Maya Hayuk is unquestionably a smashing eyewear collection. Titled Optiprism, this limited-edition pair of sunglasses is complete with a multicolored wooden diptych and prism shape that symbolizes the harmonic uniformity between femininity, strength, and rationality. Mimicking the palette of kaleidoscopic technicolor, the shades and the slight understated olde worlde style, these patterns are the very definition of a cool classic. The defining feature of this collaboration is the re-contextualized graphic-pattern embellished frames that are comprised of multicolored quadrants of circles, both subtle and sophisticated with a retro touch.
Forget those prehistoric frames you’re wearing, it’s time to get a revamped look with these purple gradient lenses.
