Graphic tees are no new kids on the block in fashion, but this fall, iconic Kim Gordon, artist and musician as well as member of the iconic band, Sonic Youth, teamed up with HM owned & Other Stories for a new interpretation for sweater-slogans.
The 16-piece collection roots in Gordon’s painting practise, and engages creative story telling by adding words like Her, They, and Morning Mirror on the pieces of their collaboration. “I see clothes as a visual outlet and I like the idea that women create an atmosphere around them by what they’re wearing, almost like they’re curating the environment or something”, Gordon told Vogue.
Kim Gordon’s collaboration with & Other Stories is not her first romance with the fashion world. Apart from being a Saint Laurent and Marc Jacobs campaign star herself, she started the highly influential ’90s brand X-Girl with Daisy von Furth – “it was the genesis of cooler-than-thou daywear”.
Her pretty daughter Coco Gordon Moore, who also works as an artist, models the collection together with Gordon’s dog Syd, who wasn’t planned to take part in the shooting, but rather had is appliance as accidental hero.
The pieces dropped last weekend.
