Ikea continues its witty responses to news about expensive things with a fun take on Da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi painting, being hammered a week ago for a staggering $450 million.
For a social post, the Swedish brand’s in-house Creative Hub came up with something pretty genius.
The amusing focus on affordable prices is something Ikea also joked around with for its famous response to Balenciaga’s pricey version of Ikea’s iconic blue shopping bag.
“At Ikea, we believe anyone should have the possibility to decorate their home without spending their life savings,” says Morten Kjaer, creative director at Ikea Creative Hub. “That’s why Ikea offers a range of frames that work with any photo, print or painting you want to show off, even those from the 1490s.”
