Over the weekend, a group of Gucci top-to-toe covered art and movie stars came together at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) to celebrate artist Mark Bradford and Star Wars & Indiana Jones movie director George Lucas. Leading trailblazers across creative industries, toasted at the Gucci-presented fundraiser event, which raised money for museum’s initiative to make film more central to the museum’s curatorial programming, in addition to education as well as screenings that explore the intersection of art and film.
Guests spotted, included art-girl-of-the-hour, Petra Cortright, actress Salma Hayek plus husband Francois-Henry Pinault, Eva and China Chow, Jaden Smith and Gwyneth Paltrow, to just drop a few names.
After sipping cocktails in a palm trees filled patio, Michael Govan, LACMA chief executive officer honoured Lucas for his plans of a new museum, “George is known worldwide as having made some of the most innovative and beloved films in history. He has also been devoted to collecting a wide variety of narrative visual arts, with his efforts culminating very soon in the construction of a new museum in Exposition Park. George’s epic new museum is one of the greatest cultural philanthropic gifts ever made in Los Angeles.”
