A Passion for Smart Water And Breathable Outfits
Project Manager At Culture Corps, New York

Daughter of one of Miami’s most acclaimed real estate developers and world renowned art collectors, Elizabeth Margulies has chosen to walk another thriving path in the art world. As a member of Bravo’s “Gallery Girls”, Liz has showcased her determinant yet undaunted attitude that allows her to succeed without the connections of her father. Upon receiving her bachelors degree from the School of Visual Arts in Design and her masters degree in Modern and Contemporary art from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Liz has recently begun her artsy career at Culture Corps., which offers classic art advisory and full art production and programming services.

In this Style Talk, we chatted with the Liz about breathable outfits, lace-up combat boots, and questioning the nature of art.

Liz

My ideal working outfit looks like…
Black jeans and a soft, cotton shirt—anything breathable and comfortable.

Heels or flats… Which brand or style…
I spend most of my life in my Chanel lace-up combat boots, but when I have to dress up, I like a simple, black, patent pump with a pointed toe by Christian Louboutin.

My favourite art-related blog/app is…
Artsy. It’s such an amazing resource for finding new artists and shows and learning about anything art-related.

The last thing I bought and loved was…
Groceries.

My necessary extravagance is…
Glam glow face mask. I use it two to three times a week.

Three things/products I always need to have in my purse…
A bottle of smart water, altoid mints, my perfume (Eu Duelle by Diptyque).

Liz

My ultimate beauty secret after long working hours…
Clé de Peau Beauté concealer, Caudalie beauty elixir – a spray that makes you feel a bit more refreshed and hydrates your skin, and lots of WATER. I like smart water because it has electrolytes.

My favourite collision of the art-and fashion world…
Alexander McQueen’s Savage Beauty exhibition at the Met from 2011. This exhibition is a true testament of the incredible ways in which art and fashion can coalesce and bring people from both worlds together.

My most admired art world influencer…
Clement Greenberg, whose critiques and essays on modernism allowed me to gain a new awareness and understanding of what I believe to be an essential part of viewing and appreciating art.

Liz

In the art world currently I find most exciting that…
Art fair attendance is the highest it’s ever been!

Art makes me…
Question the nature of life… and the nature of art itself.

My next art trip/travel will be…
I would love to go to San Francisco to visit the new SFMOMA—one of the largest modern and contemporary museums—which opens in June.

The most arty city is…
New York, obviously.

The perfect art-world gentleman is…
Nowhere to be found.

Artist(s) we should have on our watchlist is
Thomas Wachholz, Franco DeFrancesca, Kadar Brock, Phil Chang, Tarik Kiswanson.
