The Women’s History Museum is not what you think – it’s inside Gavin Brown Gallery and it has been copared to a giant collection of handmade couture by two artists who don’t want to sell anything. Created by New York artists Amanda McGowan and Mattie Rivkah Barringer, it’s a peek into using fabrics and vintage items draped in fabulous arrangements that call to mind ready-made sculptures. The self-proclaimed art-fashion duo has suggested that they’re not into designer names but will stage a fashion show at the opening of MoMA PS1’s Performance Space 122 gallery next month. Cue the voguing.
