With support from Nike, the creative directors from Ill-Studio and fashion label Pigalle have repainted the site of a basketball court – two years after they first enlivened the space – with summer-vibe gradients of blue, pink, purple and orange.

The court is sandwiched into a row of buildings in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.

“Through this new court, we wish to explore the relationship between sport, art and culture and its emergence as a powerful socio-cultural indicator of a period in time,” said the team.

Multidisciplinary Ill-Studio was founded in 2008  and works across design, films, photography and communication for clients including Louis Vuitton, Patt and Supreme.

In 2014, Nike has created a full-sized basketball court in Shanghai – equipped with motion-tracking and highest level LED technology built into the rubber floor to support US basketball legend Kobe Bryant teach his moves to young fans.
